SPRING 2009 MEETING

Once again the spring meeting was at Kootenay Forge, with Jeffrey Funk as our demonstrator. This was the second time we have had Jeffrey, and he is one of our all-time favourite demonstrators. He comes up with amazing ideas, and this time was no exception. This time part of his demonstration was “forging” rock!

Funk-3 — Sprinkling on some forge welding compound

Funk-8 — The finished top after all the pieces have been flattened under the 150lb power hammer

Funk-10 — Jeffrey silver solders some “legs” on to the piece just made

Funk-11 — A rock is heated to white hot and placed on the press

Funk-13 — The piece with the legs is pressed into the somewhat soft rock

FALL 2009 MEETING

The fall meeting was a hammer-in at Gunner Jorgensen’s Win Valley Forge in Windermere, BC. Here’s a picture of the happy guy.
